What is a Photo Montage? Photo Montages combine photographs with favorite songs to create a captivating video presentation. The photos are animated using panning and zooming, making still images come to life. You can also include video clips from family videos, if you choose. Photo Montages are great to show at special events, such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, and graduations; they also make perfect gifts for any occasion!
How long is a typical video? Most photo montages run on average between seven and twelve minutes long. This is the perfect length to keep your viewers captivated.
How long does it take to create a Photo Video Montage? Each project is usually completed in two months. However, the time it takes us to create your montage depends on a variety of factors. If you need your video in less than a month or two, this may be possible for a rush order fee. For an estimate of how long your project will take to complete, please contact us.
How do I plan my Photo Montage? In short, you select the photographs and videos that you want to use, put them in order, and either pick songs or allow us to pick them for you.
How do I select my music? You should choose songs that are meaningful to you and fit the mood of the photos. You can either provide your songs to us or have us purchase them on your behalf. (It is also possible that we already have the song you want, therefore resulting in no additional charge)!
How do I organize my photos and send them? The best and easiest way to share photos with us is to make sure all of your photos are in digital format. You can either organize your photos by categories (i.e. star of show, family, friends, etc.) or put them in a specific order such as chronological. Once your photos are organized, you can drag them into folders, and then take those folders and place them onto a flash drive. You can mail us your flash drive (which we will return to you), or you can send us your photo folders through a web based source such as dropbox or wetransfer. We are happy to help you with this part of the process and talk you through it step-by-step.
Do I have to send my actual photos in the mail? No. If you have actual photographs that you'd like used in your montage, we suggest you scan your own photos and send us the image files. If you're unable to scan them yourself, we can do this part of the process for you for an additional fee.
What are the specifications for scanning my photos? Photos should be scanned in JPEG format and named by three-digit numbers according to the order that you wish them to appear in the video. For example, you would save the first photo as 001.jpg, the second 002.jpg, etc. You should set the resolution of your photos to 300 dpi.
Can I include video clips along with my photos? Yes! Each video clip should be clearly marked and remain under three minutes in length. We can cut apart your video clip and only include the part that you want. Additional fees may apply.
How can I present my montage? Your video can be presented on either a television set or on a projection screen. A television is fine for small groups, but using a projector is preferable if you are presenting your video in a large hall (i.e. wedding or bar/bat mitzvah). If you are showing the montage at a wedding or bar/bat mitzvah, the venue and/or DJ usually has the necessary equipment.
